Windsurfing
Windsurfing
is an activity that incorporates
the latest composite materials: the masts are almost exclusively carbon
fibre and the boards are produced from several layers of composite
and thermoplastic material each included to modify the final properties
of the complete board. Formula 1 racing cars also owe a great deal
to composite materials; for example, CFRP is used with aluminium honeycomb
to make a low mass and high impact strength body shell.
