We welcome applications from those
over 21, but you need to be able to demonstrate the required level of
knowledge and ability in Mathematics and Physics. If you do not
currently possess any of the qualifications listed under Entry Routes,
you are strongly advised to prepare for University entrance by
studying for one of these, especially if it has been a long time since
you have been involved in full-time learning. The preferred route
would be to obtain A levels in Mathematics and Physics, as the
rigorous approach to these subjects at A level provides a sound
preparation for degree study. Moreover, your local Further Education
College will often run part-time courses (day or evening) which are a
good way of easing back into the working patterns and disciplines of
learning.
Many of our mature students will have
obtained some practical experience of engineering and industry, and
this provides them with a good foundation on which to build their
analytical skills. In recognition of this, we do have some flexibility
in the precise details of entry requirements in these cases, and you
should contact the Admissions Tutor to discuss your particular
situation before you plan to study for any further qualification.
